Yes! Our submissions are open to any creators that meet the requirements below!
-
To get started, you’ll need to meet a few basic requirements:
* Be at least 18 years old
* Fill out our submission agreement form
* Put together strong, thoughtful pitch materials
* Most importantly: bring us great characters, a unique point of view, and a real passion for storytelling
-
We are a creator-driven company, so first and foremost we are looking for your unique voice.
We want to come away from your pitch with a clear sense of your POV, and an understanding of why you’re the only person who can tell this particular story.
Additionally, we are always looking for unforgettable characters. The best characters are people you’d want to hang out with (in spite of any flaws they may have!) They’re characters that make viewers want to come back week after week.
-
We’re open to all kinds of materials! The most common formats we receive are scripts, pitch decks, comics, or storyboards—but you should use whatever best brings your idea to life.
And don’t worry if you’re not an artist. We’re focused on your characters, your voice, and your vision.
If those shine through, that’s what matters most.
-
Sorry, we do not accept pitches from anyone under the age of 18.
-
We read every pitch with care and attention, which can take time—especially with the number we receive. You can expect to hear back from us within 8–12 weeks.
Thanks in advance for your patience—we promise it’s worth the wait!

Our standard submission agreement just makes sure everyone’s on the same page. It confirms that you own your work. It also says that if there happen to be any similarities between your project and something we’re already developing, it’s purely a coincidence. We see a lot of pitches that explore similar ideas or themes, so this helps protect both you and us.
-
If we like the pitch materials you’ve shared, the next step is to invite you to pitch to us in person (or more accurately, over Zoom). It’s a great chance for us to get to know you and dive deeper into your project together. If it feels like the right fit and we decide to move forward, we’ll team up to build out more pitch materials—things like a script, a detailed pitch bible, and anything else you need to bring your vision to life.
-
We ask that you choose the one project you’re most excited about and submit that first. Once you’ve heard back from us, you’re welcome to pitch another.
This helps us focus on giving each project the time and thought it deserves.
-
Absolutely! If you've taken the time to make meaningful updates to your pitch, we’d love to see it again. We just ask that you wait at least 3 months before resubmitting, to give your idea a fresh perspective—and give us time to review it properly.
-
Yes! We do close submissions from time to time, usually so we can catch up and make sure every pitch gets the thoughtful read it deserves. We close submissions in December for the holidays, and submissions usually open back up at the end of January. If we’re currently closed, don’t worry—we’ll be back soon!

It’s mainly the name. Fred is still dedicated to putting creators first, creators who always have an original “voice” and want audiences to love their work. Check out this blog post if you want to learn even more.

No! — We’re primarily focused on animated series but don’t let that stop you from sending us your great movie ideas!
And BTW, aren’t cartoon series creators filmmakers?
